Fremont, California

Beers reviewed December 24 1996 at brewpub.

Mission Wheat American Wheat Ale * * 1/2
Filtered beer, served with a lemon. Fairly innocuous, standard American Wheat. Empty aroma, dry finish, wheaty middle.

California Amber Ale American Amber Ale * * * 1/2
Hopped with Clusters and Cascades. Appropriate crystal note, good well balanced Amber, remniscient of Red Tail (only better).

Kolsch American-brewed Kolsch * * 1/2
Dry overall, malty middle, some diacetyl! Innapprorpiate for style, but there is a slight winey finish.

Great Full Red ?? * * * 1/2
Malty aroma, with earthy hopping (Fuggle?). Malt dominates, perhaps Vienna? Not a crystal character. Hoppiness subdued overall. Perhaps an attempt at an English Bitter?

ESB ESB * * * 1/2
Very nice. Good hoppy character with a bit of ooomph bitterness. Bitterness lingers. Too hoppy for an ESB perhaps.

Porter Porter * * * *
Excellent roasty/coffee aroma. Nice malty/slightly roasty flavor. Excellent brown porter overall!
