Hale's Ales
(short notes)

Seattle, Washington, USA

Hales IPA American IPA * * * 1/2
Hoppy and malty nose, some diacetyl. Excellent bittering component. The body is a bit thin, but overall a very good IPA and one of Hale's better efforts. (Draught sample, Summer 1995).

Celebration Porter Porter * *
Sampled draft at the brewpub in Seattle, October 19, 1996. Brown color, with light chocolate in nose. Hints of bitterness and roastiness in flavor; otherwise insipid and uninteresting. Perhaps a decent American Brown ale, but real weak for a porter.

Hales Amber American Amber Ale * *
Sampled draft at the brewpub in Seattle, October 19, 1996. Empty and uninteresting.
