Autumn Bitter

A classic ESB that anyone can enjoy. A favorite beer of mine to keep on hand.


Recipe type: Extract
Batch Size: 5 gallons
Starting Gravity: 1.062
Finishing Gravity: 1.017
Time in Boil: 60 mins
Primary Fermentation: 8 days
Secondary Fermentation: 3 days



Place crushed grains in sack, immerse in 1 1/2 gals cold water. bring to 170, hold 20 mins. Rinse grains with 2 qt hot water, bring to boil. Add malt extract and hops as noted. Remove from heat, strain hops. Pour into carboy with 2 gals cold water. Ferment to completion, rack to secondary and bottle.
