Something fairly light and well balanced for when I'm tired of being a NW hop head. (Which isn't very often mind you)
Specifics
Recipe type: Partial Mash
Batch Size: 5 gal.
Starting Gravity: 1.057
Finishing Gravity: 1.013
Time in Boil: 60 min.
Primary Fermentation: 7 days
Secondary Fermentation: 7 days
Additional Fermentation: 14-21 days bottle carbonation
Ingredients:
- 7 lbs. Alexanders pale malt extract
- 1 1/2 lbs. 2 row pale malt
- 1 1/2 lbs. Munich malt
- 1 oz. Chinook hops (60 min.)
- 1 oz. Hallertau hops (30 min.)
- 1 oz. Hallertau hops (5 min.)
- Wyeast American Ale yeast or White Labs California Ale yeast
Procedure:
Mash the grains in 3 quarts of water at 152 for 1 hour. Sparge with 6 more quarts of water at 165. Add this run off to 3 gallons of water along with the extract and boil for one hour. Follow listed hop schedule.(Irish Moss, wort chill, aireate, and yeast pitch per your own styles.)
