Nice simple dry stout for the begginer brewer
Specifics
Recipe type: Extract
Batch Size: 5 Gallons
Starting Gravity: 1.050
Finishing Gravity: 1.016
Time in Boil: 60 Mins
Primary Fermentation: 1 Week
Secondary Fermentation: Until Grav drops to 1.016 approx.
Ingredients:
- 1 4 Lb Can of John Bull Stout Kit
- 1 3 Lb Can of Muntons Dark Liquid Extract
- 1oz Bittering Hops (Your Facorite)
- 1 Pack of Edme Dry Active Yeast
Procedure:
Bring 2 gal of Water to a boil, Add extract,
Bring back to a boil. Add Hops. Boil for about
60 mins or so.
Put into sanatized fermenter with 3.5 Gallons of
cool water. When wort is about 70 degrees pitch
rehydrated Edme east.
After active fermentation ends (should be pretty quick)
rack to secendary and wait till the Gravity drops to
1.016 or there abouts. Bottle, wait a week or two
and enjoy a nice dry Irish stout.
