La Puttana Troia Pale Ale

This beer has a nice amber color. Despite not having been dryhopped, the Cascade hop aroma is quite intense. A bit on the sweet side, but tastes quite substantial. Excellent head retention. Nice all-around drinking ale.

Starting Gravity: 1.052
Finishing Gravity: 1.016
Time in Boil: 60 minutes
Primary Fermentation: 9 days @ 70F
Secondary Fermentation: 3 weeks @ 69F
Additional Fermentation: none
Ingredients:
- 6.5 lbs Klages
- 3 lbs Munich
- .5 lbs Crystal 40L
- .25 lb. Carapils
- 2 oz. Flaked Barley
- 1 oz. Centennial hops
- 1.5 oz Cascade hops
- Wyeast American Ale Yeast
Procedure:
Mash 60 minutes at 154F, or until starch conversion is complete. Add 1 oz Centennial hops 60 minutes before end of boil, .5 oz Cascade 30 minutes before end of boil, another .5 oz Cascade 15 minutes before end of boil. Steep final .5 oz Cascade hops after turning off heat. Chill wort and pitch yeast.
