This comes as close to the KING of beer as any recipe I have tried or formulated. Hail GUINNESS
Specifics
Recipe type: All Grain
Batch Size: 5 Gal
Starting Gravity: 1.054
Finishing Gravity: 1.011
Time in Boil: 90 minutes
Primary Fermentation: 3 days
Secondary Fermentation: 7 days
Ingredients:
- 7 lbs pale malt(2 row)
- 1 lb roasted barley
- 1 lb flaked barley
- 2 oz Oregon Pearle hops
- 2 soured 12 oz Guiness
- Wyeast Irish Ale Liquid Yeast
- 1/2 cup corn sugar(priming)
Procedure:
Mash-in at 125*F
Protein rest for 30 min at 120-125*F
Starch conversion 2 hours at 140-150*F
Sparge water 5 gal at 170*F
Boil 90 min----add soured beer at beginning of boil
Hops: 1 addition-60 min before end of boil
Chill wort and add yeast
Follow fermentation schedule
Bottle and age for about 3-4 weeks(it's good at 1 but it gets better)
