Iron Range Brown

This is an unusual beer, and a great after work drink. The Brown malt adds some nice java flavor with only a mild bitterness from the pale chocolate malt. Ringwood ale is often overlooked and complents this beer very well.

Batch Size: 5 Gallon
Starting Gravity: 1.048
Finishing Gravity:
Time in Boil: 60 min
Primary Fermentation: 65 F
Secondary Fermentation: 55F
Ingredients:
- 5 Lbs Beestons Maris Otter
- 2 Lbs Pauls Mild
- 1/2 oz Beestons Dark Crystal
- 1 Lb Beestons Brown
- 1/4 Lb Beestons Pale Chocolate
- 1 oz Eroica (60 min) (8.5% AA)
- 1 oz E. Kt. Goldings (5 min)
- 1 pt starter from Wyeast Ringwood Ale
Procedure:
Single Step Infusion 1.25 qt. per lb. rest 60 min at 152 F.
Mash out and sparge to 6.5-7 gallons total. boil down to 5 gallons.
