Great after 2 weeks in bottle!
Superb Head Retention and 2 yeasts & Brit. & German Hops give it a Pale Ale Character but with a spiciness!
Weizen culture gives the beer a slight pleasing tartness!
Colour was a brown/copper colour!
Only problem is I drank the @@##%%$ thing within 3 weeks!
Ahh well you know what they say! The proof of the pudding ...
Specifics
Recipe type: Partial Mash
Batch Size: 6 Gallons
Starting Gravity: 1060
Finishing Gravity: 1008
Time in Boil: 90mins
Primary Fermentation: 7 days at 16-18c
Secondary Fermentation: 7 days at 13c
Ingredients:
- 3kg Pale Ale Malt
- 150g Light Crystal Malt
- 1.5kg Liquid Light Malt Extract
- 60g Goldings Pellets 5%aau (Boil)
- 20g Goldings Pellets 5%aau (Finish)
- 30g Hallertau Pellets 6%aau (Dry Hop)
- 1 Coopers Sparkling Ale Yeast (Cult. From Bottle Coopers)
- 1 Weizen Culture from Peet's Weizen cult from prev. primary.
Procedure:
Gains mashed in single temp. infusion 2 hrs. at 67c. 6Lts Water.
Half tsp. gypsum added to mash & sparge water.
Mashed out at 75c.
Sparged with 6 Lts Water at 75c.
Liquid Malt Added bought to boil - Golding hops added then boiled for 90 mins.
20g Golding Hops added at strikeout.
Both Yeasts added when cooled in fermenter and primary ferment lasted 7 days at 16-18c
Racked into Secondary added 1tbsp gelatin, then dry hopped with Hallertau pellets.
Batch primed & bottled with 155g Corn Sugar.
