After about one month in the bottle, this beer really had a fantastic character and refreshing tast with overtures of banana and clove. One of my favorite beers that I have brewed.
Specifics
Recipe type: Extract
Batch Size: 5 gallons
Starting Gravity: 1.052
Finishing Gravity: 1.008
Time in Boil: 1 hour 15 min
Primary Fermentation: 5 days
Secondary Fermentation: 2 weeks
Ingredients:
- 4lbs Wheat Malt Extract-Alexanders
- 1.4lbs Pale Malt Extract
- 1/2 lb carapils malt
- 1/2 lb aromatic malt
- 2lbs wildflower honey
- 1oz. Fuggle Pellet Hops 4.1% boil
- 1oz cascade flower hops 5.4% finish
- Wyeast German Wheat Yeast 3068 liquid
Procedure:
steep grain for 30 min. at 145 degrees; add extract and bring to boil; add honey and bring to boil; add Fuggle Hops and boil for one hour; add cascade hops and boil for 5 min; cool rapidly and pitch yeast
